Wine Folly: As this wine is primarily CA Syrah, It should have deep black fruit peppery flavors, and a dusty minerality. (pg 626). Since this is a wine from Lodi California, it should be highly aromatic and have smoky fruit flavors, this wine has 30% zinfandel so there should be notes of blackberry bramble, raspberry jam, peach preserves, hickory, and star anise. (pg 418)
My Review: The wine had a pale ruby color. It had a fruity aroma. The wine itself was very acidic, it had notes of blackberry and spice. The wine had a dry tart finish that left my mouth watering after drinking it. From the wine description I could not detect anything other than the black fruit notes. As it says, the wine is defiant and bold. Overall I would not recommend this wine, personally I like wines with a smoother finish and less acidic.Rating: 🍷🍷/5
