Wine Folly: Rioja, Spain's top variety wine, notes of Cherry, Dried Fig, Cedar, Tobacco and Dill, (pg 385). Being a 'Reserva' Rioja, This wine has been aged for around 3 years. It contains notes of a cigar box, black cherry, and brown sugar. (pg 388). This wine should be decanted for 60+ minutes and should cost around 14$.
My Review: The wine was ruby-colored. It had a fruity aroma, and I could smell notes of cherry. However, I could not taste vanilla or oak from the barrel aging. The wine was acidic and had a dry finish, but it was balanced and not overly acidic or dry. The taste of the wine was good. Overall, I enjoyed the wine and would recommend it.
